Het Filiaal produces dynamic, playful, life-affirming and occasionally absurd music theatre for all ages. For young and old, for families and schools, at home and abroad. Het Filiaal’s work varies from spectacular productions for audiences of a thousand people, to well-considered art projects on a much smaller scale, designed to give children an intensive introduction to every facet of theatre.

The artistic team consists of director Monique Corvers, composer Gábor Tarján and object theatre maker Ramses Graus and they then bring together professional actors, musicians and visual artists. The loving precision and sense of humour with which text, music, acting and visuals are integrated, has come to be the trademark of Het Filiaal.

International: 

Baron Rabinovitsj, a comedy concert, was a huge hit at IPAY 2005 (US) and played to sold-out houses in Hong Kong and Macau, toured in California and Ohio and enchanted American audiences on Broadway. Miss Ophelia/Mevr. Ophelia, a production based on the picture book Ophelia’s Shadow Theatre by Michael Ende, will travel to Dublin, Edinburgh, Malta, New York and London and is already receiving rave reviews. In the Netherlands, the show won the prestigious Zilveren Krekel (Silver Cricket) for most impressive production. Miss Ophelia is still available for booking.

As Flat as the World/Zo Plat Als De Wereld is also suitable for international audiences, up-tempo music theatre with absurd songs, slapstick, puppetry and a tiny, little house which sometimes turns into a big, little house. ‘You could name a whole list of sources of inspiration, but Het Filiaal is above all, itself.
